The GUI update completed successfully. Statistics were lost somewhere. All APs are visible and show the NEEDS UPGRADE status. Decided to use Rolling upgrade. The process started well: (image lost) It ended badly: (image lost)
APs with DISCONNECTED status respond to ping. They are presumably using the old configuration. Updating through CUSTOM UPGRADE does not work.
On arrival: The APs were not providing Wi-Fi and had no status LEDs. Action taken: Power-cycled each AP at the PoE switch. The APs became visible in the Controller with the old configuration. Upgraded each AP individually; everything worked.
Conclusion: Do not use ROLLING UPDATE again.
